Second Shift Production Manager

Position Details

SUMMARY: To ensure production lines are running the highest quality product in the most effective, safest and productive manner by ensuring all employees are complying with the Quality Systems and food safety regulations.

  • Compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Process (GMP’s)
  • Allocation of employees to their assigned lines, ensuring that employees are complying with company PPE requirements
  • Coordination with materials department to ensure there is sufficient material to maximize production and minimize down time
  • Communication and coordination with Line Leads on headcount requirements to maximize production and minimize down time
  • Completion of all required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Visual inspection of product running through the production floor to ensure customer specifications are being met
  • Actively communicate with HR on employee relations issues
  • Execute on the job, SOP and other company policies and procedures training
  • Ensure compliance and enforcement of company’s safety policies and procedures
  • Assist in meeting daily/weekly/monthly production requirements in accordance with company goals, forecasts and objectives
  • Have a flexible work schedule including weekends
  • Daily tracking of production yields and labor cost
  • Ability to take on new projects from start through to completion
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
  • Basic knowledge of the product, production processes and other techniques to maximize the level of production
  • Ability to instruct and foster employees; bilingual (English/Spanish) required with ability to read and write
  • Awareness of sanitation and hygiene procedures and practices
  • Concern for the safety of self and co-workers with a responsible attitude
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting techniques
  • Good organization and planning skill set
  • Knowledge of seafood processing; including HACCP, FDA, USDC and SQF standards
  • Physical effort requires frequent lifting or moving of materials
  • Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and/or reach
  • Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects up to 50
  • Completion of all general safety, sanitation and hygiene procedures, paying particular attention to detail regarding allergens, as well as OSHA required training
  • Product/production processes
  • Use of eye safety glasses, gloves, boots, hair net and frock are required

The facility is a wet and cold environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
